I’m staying in Melbourne, Australia with a working holiday visa, from Japan. I always write blogs in Japanese, but I just want to write a blog in English for practicing my English expression.Today I’m gonna talk about 2025.
The picture on top is udon made in Australia, the Japanese way, I bought it at a grocery store, ok taste. This has nothing to do with the content of the article
2025
January
I was still working at a Japanese company as a call operator. I’ve decided that I’ll work for a year after graduating from university to go on a working holiday.
I went on a trip to Mie prefecture at the end of this month with my friend, just the two of us.
We wanted to visit Nagashima Spa Land, that is why we chose Mie prefecture. There are some huge roller coasters, and also huge onsen, hot springs there too. I had never seen such a huge onsen facility. A big pool area for summer was also looking good, but I recommend you to visit there in winter if you want to be more relaxed.
February
I quit my job in the middle of this month. From February, I needed to go to see doctors before going to Australia like dentist, ENT department, Obstetrics and Gynecology, orthopedic surgery(cause my right leg is always a bit numb, still now it’s going on), and so on.
I visited Fukuoka prefecture and Oita prefecture with my friend. We were so happy because we had a lot of delicious food.
And also I went on a motorcycle trip to Yamanashi prefecture with my dad.
March
I took dance class lessons sooo many times in March and April because I hadn’t been attending lessons regularly, so I had a lot of extra lesson tickets, and I needed to use them all up before I left.
I went to Nagano prefecture for snowboarding with my best friend. And I attended a Christian camp for teenagers as a program staff in Tokyo, 4days 3nights. Then I went to Gifu prefecture as a family trip. Japanese traditional houses in Shirakawa-go were so beautiful.
April
I went to Kyoto with my best friend. It was extremely crowded with sightseeing visitors.
During this time, I went through various procedures to prepare for my trip.
I met a lot of friends before I left.
May
I came to Sydney at first. I was traveling there for a week. I watched two plays, “RBG: of Many, One” at the Opera house and “Lord Arthur savile’s crime” at the Genesian theatre.
And then, I headed to my host family’s house in Melbourne.
I was really surprised how big my host family’s house is. I’ve never seen such a huge house and their land.
I started to attend a local church where the host’s dad is a pastor.
June
I bought a motorcycle in Melbourne. I found it on market place, facebook. My host dad helped me so much when I bought it, he checked it up well and contacted the previous owner.
And I joined a huge Christian Camp with my host family and some friends.
My friend in Australia invited me to have lunch at a Korean BBQ shop in the city.
I got my first job at a pastry shop at the end of June.
July
I’ve worked so much.
I moved to the other house as a petsitter. I was taking care of a cat, a rabbit, fishes and three chickens for almost a month.
August
I got a fracture on my right wrist (I’m right handed) when I was snowboarding. I fell on icy snow for the first 10 minutes.
A week later I had surgery. It was the first fracture and surgery for me, I was literally scared, but I was in God’s hand, everything was OK. At first, everyone thought I had broken a bone in a motorcycle accident, but that’s not the case.
I got metal on my bone forever, and I was living with a sling until the end of September.
I moved to the other house again, I was taking care of a Maltese.
I I started a job as an online Japanese teacher.
September
I went back to the first host family’s house again for 3 weeks. I put my motorcycle in the host’s garage until I get well.
My younger brother came from Japan for my help. He dried my hair, made some dishes, took some photos of me when we went out and helped me more.
I moved to my previous house again to take care of a Maltese.
October
I moved to the other house again. I was taking care of a Jack Russell Terrier.
I restarted riding my motorcycle in the middle of October, I was so happy.
My last checking up for my wrist was also in the middle of October. I’ve got to do more physiotherapy.
November
I moved to the other house again where I found on Airbnb for only 2 weeks.
And then, I went back to my previous house with a Jack Russell Terrier, that was house sharing with my friend.
December
I moved to the other house again to take care of a German Shepherd where I found a petsitting job on a website.
I attended a Christmas party at my host family’s house on the 24th, and I joined a Christmas branch at a friend’s house.
After Christmas while new year holiday season my family came from Japan and we stayed together at my current house. We went to some sightseeing spots like the great ocean road, Melbourne city, Costco, Hanging Rock and so on. The New year eve party at the church was also good. We saw so many fireworks around the house.
Conclusion
I simply showed my staying in Australia. There was a lot more to it than this.
I didn’t write it above, but I am grateful to a bible study group of the Australian church, another bible study group of some Japanese church girls and the Japanese community of planetshakers, all of whom accepted me kindly.
A lot of things happened on me and it was a very intense year.
However, thanks to Jesus’ protection, I have managed to survive this long.
I really hope there are no more problems left in 2 months, I hope there is so much fun.
